Jumping up and down a trampoline repeatedly may seem to be just one way to pass the time, but in reality it is one of the most fun full body workouts you can get. Jumping up and down a trampoline, in addition to doing wonders for your cardiovascular system, works almost every muscle group in your body to ensure balance in your exercise. Not to mention the fact that the sensation of momentary flight associated with jumping on a trampoline appeals to both children and adults. Trampoline tricks take the workout to the next level, further increasing your flexibility and coordination.
Tricks range from tucking your arms and legs in when midair to somersaults and back flips only acrobatic enough individuals are capable of. Nestled in between these extremes are different ways of landing (the seat drop, the front drop and the arms and knees drop, just to name a few) and different variations of arranging your arms and legs midair (spreading, tucking, etc.) in order to control your momentum in different directions. As said above, the most basic trampoline trick is the tuck, where you simply tuck your arms and legs while in the middle of a jump. Tricks on the trampoline are arranged like a ladder: there are several basic trick jumps you must feel comfortable with before you move on to more complicated tricks, and eventually reach the stage where you make your own personal variations of tricks.
Note, however, that although most trampoline tricks appear simple enough to execute by simply experimenting on a trampoline, this is not usually the case. As with all other sports and exercises, safety must be the top priority when working your body.
Safety regarding equipment comes first. You should consider the capability of your trampoline to withstand wear by constant use. Buy a sturdy and durable trampoline that can easily support your weight, which you can test by giving it a few jumps. Also, consider the clothes you are wearing when using your trampoline, as loose-fitting clothes may snag on the trampoline’s sides.
Second concerns safety in technique. Consider the spot on the trampoline you land on when doing most of your jumps. The basic rule is that you must always bounce on the center of the trampoline’s bed, as bouncing on the sides may cause the trampoline to turn over. Bouncing should also always start low and controlled, as higher bounces, due to the increase in momentum, are more difficult to manage. Always start slow, as most coaches would say. For mini trampolines it's really tough to control this positioning .
Safety regarding location is another factor worth considering. Make sure that you place your trampoline where it is clear of vertical and horizontal obstructions. Also, have a qualified trampoline instructor close nearby.

How to have fun with Basic trampoline Tricks ?
A trampoline is a great place to practice and play but before enjoying you should learn some skills to interact with it. There are three basic skills that you can learn it quickly: the basic bounces, basic shapes and basic twists.
Before moving to harder moves, you should learn how to stop safely. You just bend your knees when you touch the trampoline then you stop. Remember that not bending your knees enough will rebound you again. In addition, leaning forwards or backwards while landing may let you fall down or off.
There are 3 “shapes” you can find here: Tuck Jump, Straddle and Pike Jump
- Tuck Jump: This shape is acted like the straight jump and put the knees towards your chest and hands towards your knees until reaching the top. At the top, the knees should be as close to the chest as possible and your hands touch just below the front of the knees. And then land with both your knees and hands on the way down.
- Straddle: First, you perform likely a straight jump until reaching the near top. Then reach the forwards by your arms from the hips and slightly to the side. You come out this shape on the way down with the straight line by tracking your arms with legs.
- Pike Jump: Acting this shape is similar to the straddle until reaching the near top. Then, you directly forward with both hands. Put your legs straight and try to touch the toes as best as you can. You come out this pike jump on the way arms down.
It seems harder than it looks at the first time but you will be familiar with this skill soon. You start the jump like straight jump, when you near the last contact, just twist your arms and shoulders upwards, this looks like coiling a spring. When leaving the trampoline, you can release your foot look like uncoiling the spring. Then reach the round with your arms and shoulder completed the twist.
